His repertory reaches from Bach to contemporary classical music. New Music is one of Falko Steinbach`s special interests, which he ever more frequently is opening to new audiences in the form of lecture concerts. Falko Steinbach has done numerous recording for compact disc (7 CD`s), radio, video and television. Among them a benefit DC with works of Bach, Beethoven, Mozart, Chopin and Bartók whose proceeds got to the Casa Alianza-Children`s Aid of Guatemala and amnesty international. His most recent CD (six take) includes pieces by renowned contemporary German composers and presents Steinbach as a composer.

Since August 1999, Falko Steinbach has been Assistant Professor for Piano as the University Of New Mexico in Albuquerque.

The Press

Steinbach plays like the composer he is, with a strong narrative sense and informed structural grasp. His approach resembles that of pianists like Alfred Brendel and Maurizio Pollini, who submerge themselves in the composer`s intention, going deep into the score.
